KraussMaffei partnering with LG Electronics to develop electronic devices

Machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH is partnering with Korean company LG Electronics in a move to develop new technologies in plastics processing for electronic devices.

According to a KraussMaffei news release, the agreement was signed at a ceremony in the company’s Munich headquarters, and LG Electronics also ordered more injection molding machines from KraussMaffei’s MX series. The machines will be installed in the development department of the LG Electronics’ mold technology centre, currently under construction in Pyeongtaek-si, Korea.

“We’re delighted to announce this cooperation with LG Electronics,” said Frank Peters, divisional manager at KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH. “It shows that our partner recognizes our engineering know-how in injection and reaction molding.”

In its news release, KraussMaffei says the cooperation agreement is a logical further step in a working partnership that has already been in existence for three years, and which began with the shipment of MX injection molding machines to LG Electronics.
