In order to foster closer working relationships with municipalities, the Environment and Plastics Industry Council (EPIC) has retained Paul van der Werf of 2cg Inc. as a Municipal Program Representative for the Ontario region.
Van der Werf’s educational background includes a Master of Science Degree from the University of Guelph. Through his ongoing consulting work in organics and in other kinds of diversion programs, he has worked with various municipal jurisdictions across the country and has built up a broad base of waste-diversion expertise over the years.
“Paul brings a lot of industry experience and enthusiasm to EPIC,” says Cathy Cirko, director general of EPIC. “He will be a great resource for both us and for Ontario municipalities.”
In his new position van der Werf will work hand-in-hand with Ontario municipalities to help improve plastic waste diversion by providing advice on ways to decrease the cost of plastic recycling and to provide information on alternative technologies, such as energy from waste.
He can be reached via e-mail ([email protected]) or by calling 519-317-7733.
EPIC is a council of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (Mississauga, ON).
