Websites Pricing
$1.95 Website Essentials – $3.95 Business Essentials
Overall rating

3 out of 5 stars

Web.com is a simple platform, offering a website builder, ecommerce, and hosting services to customers. It’s ideal for anyone who only needs the essentials, such as smaller websites or businesses that are just starting out – plans are stripped back to basics.

Web.com has four website builder plans, and two of these are ecommerce-focused. When billed annually, the prices normally range from $4.95–$19.95 per month, but you can get 50% off with the code BUILD50. The Website Essentials plan is the cheapest overall, starting at $1.95 per month with Web.com’s first month deal, but you’ll need the eCommerce Essentials plan if you’d like to sell online.

Additionally, there are three shared hosting plans, and three WordPress hosting plans to choose from. These six plans are very similar in nature, and cost the same across the board! For a 12-month hosting plan, prices run between $2.95–$6.95 per month. If you’re just starting out, we’d recommend Web.com’s most popular hosting plan, Plus, which starts at $4.95 per month for a 12-month contract.

Though Web.com’s pricing is very affordable, it’s worth noting that there’s no free plan or free trial ahead of purchase, so you’ll need to commit to a plan immediately.

Take a look at all of Web.com’s pricing below:

This article will examine and highlight Web.com’s pricing for its website builder, ecommerce, and web hosting plans. We endeavor to provide you with all of the information so you can make the right choice for your website.

Overview of Web.com Pricing

There are a lot of figures in the table below, but don’t be alarmed! We’ve simply outlined the monthly, annual, and renewal fees for each plan. For Web.com’s website builder and ecommerce plans, there’s also an exclusive first month offer for newcomers.

Web.com Plan Plan Type Offer (1st month) Monthly Cost Annual Cost (per month) Renewal Cost (Monthly) Renewal Cost (Annually, per month)
Website Essentials Website Builder $1.95 $14.99 $4.95 $14.99 $9.99
Business Essentials Website Builder $3.95 $19.99 $7.95 $19.99 $14.99
eCommerce Essentials Ecommerce $9.95 $32.99 $13.95 $32.99 $25.99
eCommerce Premium Ecommerce $24.95 $49.99 $19.95 $49.99 $39.99
Basic Hosting $2.95 $9.99
Plus Hosting $4.95 $13.99
Premium Hosting $6.95 $16.99

With all plans, whether that’s for Web.com’s website/online store builder, or even its hosting services, you’ll save 60% if you opt to pay annually. It might seem daunting to commit to such a long period of time, instead of paying month-to-month, but it’ll work out cheaper for you in the long run!

For hosting, we’ve shared the 12-month prices, but you can get a slightly cheaper subscription for Web.com’s shared and WordPress hosting plans if you commit to a three-year plan.

Website Builder Plans

For anyone looking to build a website, whether it’s for a personal blog, portfolio, or professional website, then Web.com’s two website builder plans would be the right fit. The Website Essentials and Business Essentials plans both start with a cheap introductory first month offer. After that, you’ll need to pay a slightly steeper price, which ranges from $4.95–$7.95 per month (billed annually).

While Web.com’s low prices are appealing, it’s not the most scalable website builder we’ve reviewed. In fact, the best value builder we’ve tested is Weebly, which has a free plan to start you off.

Ecommerce Plans

Web.com has two ecommerce-focused pricing plans to choose from.

If you want to start selling online, you’ll need to upgrade to one of Web.com’s two ecommerce-focused plans: eCommerce Essentials, or eCommerce Premium.

The eCommerce Essentials plan starts at $9.95 per month thanks to its first month deal. However, you’d be better off ignoring the offer if you decide on the Premium plan, and instead opt for the one-year term which starts at $19.95 per month.

Customers get full use of Web.com’s website builder with additional tools and features to help you run an online store. And though Web.com’s plans are affordable, if value for money is important to you, Square Online scores the best for price out of all of the ecommerce builders we’ve tested.

For consistency with our other hosting reviews and comparison pieces, we’ve focused on the 12-month pricing plans, but Web.com does offer 36-month prices as well.

Shared Web Hosting

There are three shared hosting plans to choose between: Basic, Plus, and Premium. Unfortunately, Web.com’s website doesn’t give visitors much insight into how each plan differs beyond a unique tagline.

The Basic plan is supposedly best if you’re only after the essentials, whereas the Plus and Premium plans give customers more features to help them grow online. That being said, all hosting plans offer:

  • 99.99% uptime
  • Unmetered bandwidth
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Domain registration
  • SSL security
  • Multisite management
  • Fast server response time

WordPress Hosting

Web.com’s WordPress hosting plans are simply a repeat of its basic web hosting plans, but with some added WordPress-related flair.

Web.com vs Competitors

While Web.com doesn’t make the cut on our various lists of the best website builders or top web hosting providers on the market, that’s not to say that it’s the worst either. It’s a simple and basic provider, absolutely, but if that’s what you’re looking for, then Web.com does the job well!

Plus, its cheap introductory prices (even if only for the first month) make Web.com stand out against its competition. That being said, a lot of the other builders and platforms do offer free trials or free plans, which Web.com doesn’t.

For website builders, Web.com’s plans start at $4.95 per month (billed annually), if we set aside the first month offer. Let’s take a look at our top three website builders to compare pricing:

For ecommerce, Web.com’s eCommerce Essentials plan starts at $13.95 per month (billed annually). Here are the top three competitors for comparison:

Finally, though Web.com offers both shared and WordPress hosting, other hosting providers on the market provide customers with a greater range, including VPS and dedicated hosting plans. So, Web.com is at a disadvantage here.

Our recommended Web.com hosting plan, the Plus plan, starts at $4.95 per month for a 12-month term, which is considerably higher than other hosting providers. Our top choice for hosting, Bluehost, starts at just $2.95 per month. Its plans are feature-rich, it offers excellent WordPress integration, and there’s a helpful support team in the wings.

Web.com Pricing: Summary

Having an awareness of pricing, and knowing the differences between plans, is all about being prepared. To guide you when making a purchase, steering you towards the right platform or provider for your needs is what our pricing reviews are for, and how we aim to help you.

With Web.com, there are four plans to choose from for your website builder and ecommerce needs, and up to six hosting plans, so there really is something for everyone.

If you’re after a simple website builder, we’d recommend the Business Essentials plan. Not only does it have a fantastic deal where the first month costs $3.95, but the plan offers a great blend of website builder and marketing tools, as well as 24/7 customer support, and a free domain.

For an online store, especially if you’re just starting out, the eCommerce Essentials plan is your best bet, starting at $9.95 for the first month. It comes with great features, which includes unlimited products, abandoned cart recovery, and advanced shipping tools.

Finally, for hosting, the plan you choose depends on the type of hosting you need. But, if you only need the basics, which Web.com does very well, we’d recommend choosing the Plus plan for $4.95 per month. The plan offers everything you need to help you grow online, such as unmetered bandwidth and multisite management.
